總會長: 林宣昭 Herman Lin 北美洲台灣旅館公會總會轉眼已經成立五年了。回顧過去數年在歷屆總會長與全體理事、會員的殷殷耕耘下，使得總會規模得以日形茁壯。基於全體理事們的信任與支持，我不得以榮任本屆北美洲台灣旅館公會總會的總會長。本人深感職責重大，惟當竭誠服務、盡承先啟後之大任，以不負眾望。 展望未來努力的方向，以擴張新分會及輔助各分會的成長為首要目標。目前我們的分會計有：南加州、休士頓美南、紐奧良、佛羅里達、及紐澤西美東，共計五個。現時我們也與各地區的旅館同業們，如北加州、鳳凰城、明尼蘇達、以及西雅圖等地區保持密切連繫，並達成共識，希望來日能盡快成立各地分會，總會則可團結各分會來提升旅美台灣業者的競爭力，降低採購成本，交換專業知識，加強與主流連鎖業者的溝通，共同培育我們下一代旅館經營專才，使現代業者的第二代擁有更多的優越條件。 為了協助培養更優秀的接班人，我們預計于2011年三月帶領下一代的青年菁英，回台與當地旅館業者溝通與觀摩。 近年台灣商務旅館發展蓬勃，設備先進，是有目共睹的。不論是硬體或軟體的層次都積極的提昇，甚至凌駕於歐美之上。它們的發展提供給年輕人很大的鼓勵與指示。我們會聽取經營理念與實務經驗建立人脈，加強日後彼此合作，這將是總會積極培訓青商部會員的具體服務。希望各地會員能踴躍參加，期待青年們能從中體驗，吸取他人之長，活用於美國本土，成就更成功的旅館專業，為公會承擔更大的責任，盡更大的貢獻，使我們北美洲台灣旅館公會總會能代代相傳， 源遠流長，完成創會的宏願。 Taiwan Hotel/Motel Association of North America has celebrated its fifth birthday this year. Looking back in history, the past Presidents and Board Members have worked exceptionally hard to strengthen the Association. Entrusted and supported by the Board, I have now accepted the torch of becoming this year's presidency. This challenging responsibility alerts me to work harder in the coming year so our Association can continue its growth. Looking on to the future, the immediate goals are to support each existing local associations and help the formation of more local associations. Currently we have five local associations in Southern California, Houston, New Orleans, Florida, and New Jersey. Other regions such as Northern California, Phoenix, Minnesota and Seattle have increasing number of Taiwanese hoteliers staying close contact with the Association, seeking assistance in forming local organizations. With the growth of existing and new associations, we can drastically increase our competitiveness, purchasing ability, bargaining power with vendors and franchisors, effectively exchanging professional and operational knowledge, and educating the young generation hoteliers within the Taiwanese communities. Our future lies with the new generation. To provide great opportunities and learning experiences for our new hoteliers, the Association has planned and organized a youth group excursion tour to Taiwan in March 2011. The goal of this exploration trip is to learn and exchange information with Taiwan's fast growing tourism industry. Lodging industry of business traveler sector in Taiwan has grown exponentially in recent years. The explosion of tourism growth both in international and domestic sectors helped modernize the hardware and software of the Taiwan lodging industry. Business travelers from abroad and tourists from China have flooded the industry with unsurpassed room night demand, and this lead the industry to modernize guestroom improvements and hospitality concepts that are fresh and new to the world. With Taiwan's industry growth, we hope to improve the collaboration opportunities for the new hoteliers and sharpen our competitive edge in our local markets. We hope that all our local associations can promote and encourage younger generation to participate this great learning experience and opportunity. As our young blood become more skillful and competitive, the Taiwan Hotel/Motel Association of North America can continue the passage into the future.
